Stress and immunity: why protecting your natural defences is not just a matter of a single course

Stress, much more than a feeling

We often talk about stress as a simple state of mind — a passing tension, a bad day. However, stress is above all a physiological phenomenon. When it persists over time, it does not only weigh on morale: it acts deeply on the entire organism, and particularly on the immune system, our first line of defence.

Understanding this link is already a step towards better protection of one's health.

What happens in the body under the effect of stress

In the face of a stressful situation, the body triggers a well-known hormonal cascade among researchers. The organism activates what is called the HPA axis (hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal) and releases stress hormones, the main one being cortisol.

In the short term, this reaction is useful, even beneficial: a temporary stress can stimulate certain defences. The problem arises when stress becomes chronic.

Recent scientific reviews are clear on this point. When prolonged, a high level of cortisol disrupts immune regulation: it tends to reduce the activity of Natural Killer (NK) cells and T lymphocytes, while maintaining a background inflammatory state. In other words, prolonged stress gradually weakens the body's natural defences.

(To go further, see for example: “The multifaceted impact of stress on immune function”, Molecular Biology Reports, 2025 — PubMed/PMC; and “Regulation of Stress-Induced Immunosuppression”, Biology, 2025 — PubMed/PMC.)

Why it matters: stress opens the door to other vulnerabilities

This is where the real issue lies. An immune system weakened by chronic stress protects the body less effectively. The body becomes more vulnerable to seasonal infections, recovers more slowly, and is less well equipped to face everyday challenges.

Protecting one's immunity during periods of stress is therefore not a luxury or a comfort option. It is a concrete way to help the body defend itself and reduce the risk of a simple episode of fatigue turning into lasting fragility.

Supporting your immunity in the face of stress is not a matter of a single course: it is ongoing, long-term support.

An essential point: chronic stress is lasting, the response must be too.

Here is an idea we wish to emphasise, as it is at the heart of our approach.

Chronic stress, by definition, unfolds over time. Months of tension cannot be “fixed” with a few days of rest. In the same way, supporting your immune system over the long term cannot be a matter of a one-off course.

It is a logic of regular support: good habits of life, maintained day after day, whose benefits are built gradually. Regularity — and not the intensity of a moment — is what makes the difference in the long term.

Taking care of your foundations every day

A balanced lifestyle remains the best foundation for your natural defences. A few simple pillars to cultivate over time:

  • Breathing and breaks — a few minutes of slow breathing are enough to calm the nervous system and lower internal tension.
  • Movement — walking, swimming, yoga: regular physical activity is a powerful regulator of stress.
  • Sleep — protecting your nights means protecting your defences. Rest is the time when the body regenerates.
  • Social connection — talking, sharing, surrounding yourself: the support of others really matters.
  • A varied diet — rich in essential nutrients for proper immune function.

To this foundation of good habits, you can add long-term nutritional support, designed to accompany the body over time.

ImunoBran® 1000: a support designed for the long term

At the heart of ImunoBran® is MGN-3/Biobran, an arabinoxylan derived from rice bran, studied for over thirty years for its action on natural defences — and particularly on the activity of Natural Killer (NK) cells, the very cells that chronic stress tends to weaken. It is this direct link that gives regular support its full meaning during prolonged periods of tension.

ImunoBran® 1000 is the most concentrated form: one sachet provides 1000 mg of MGN-3. A box of 30 sachets corresponds to one month of support — a natural starting point for those wishing to integrate this support into their daily life.

And this is where the essence lies: ImunoBran® is not a product with immediate and spectacular effects. It is a foundational support, whose benefits are built over time. A first box is a beginning, not an end — because in the face of lasting stress, it is the regularity, month after month, that makes the difference. For prolonged use, the 105-sachet format takes over.

ImunoBran® is a dietary supplement designed to support the immune system. It does not replace medical treatment, a balanced diet, or the advice of your doctor. In case of immunosuppressive treatment, consult your doctor before any use.
